COMPETITIVE PROGRAM

Beginning with the 2026–2027 season,, most major youth soccer organizations are switching to an August 1 – July 31 age group format to align with school years. The 26/27 age groups are based on the player’s age as of July 31, 2027 (e.g., U10 is born between August 1, 2016 – July 31, 2017). This change helps keep players competing alongside their classmates and peers, strengthening both development and team chemistry. 2026–2027 Age Groups

Current GGS Academy players receive priority placement for the 2026–2027 season and do not need to register for Player Placement sessions. Your place within the academy is secure. During the spring, our coaching staff will evaluate returning players and determine team placements for the upcoming season based on development, team structure, and competitive level.

Players who are new to GGS Soccer Academy and wish to be considered for the 2026–2027 competitive season must register for our Player Placement (Tryout) sessions. These sessions allow our coaching staff to: • Evaluate technical ability and tactical understanding • Assess athletic development and decision-making • Observe competitiveness, work ethic, and coachability • Identify the most appropriate team environment for each player Following the evaluation period, selected players will receive official placement invitations to join one of our GGS teams.

During Player Placement sessions, athletes will participate in structured training activities and small-sided games designed to showcase their abilities in a competitive environment. To support player development at every level, GGS Soccer Academy organizes teams within each age group based on ability and competitive pathway. Gold Teams Our Gold Teams represent the highest competitive level within the academy. These teams compete in elite leagues and top regional or national events, providing players with exposure to strong competition and advanced development opportunities. Black Teams Our Black Teams compete in strong regional leagues and tournaments while continuing to develop toward higher competitive levels. These teams provide a high-quality developmental environment where players can grow within the GGS system. White Teams Our White Teams focus on building strong technical foundations and a strong understanding of the game while competing in appropriate developmental leagues.
