TRYOUTS (PLAYER PLACEMENT) SCHEDULE

 
 

DATES: May 1-2 and May 5-8, 2025​

All genders and ages will have tryouts on the dates above, but they have different start times. Please check the gender and age criteria below for your tryout time.​​

  • Girls - Birth Years: 2019-2007​​

    • Check-in: 5:30 PM​

    • Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

  • Boys - Birth Years: 2019-2016​

    • Check-in: 5:30 PM​

    • Time: 6:00 PM - 7:15 PM

  • Boys - Birth Years: 2015-2012​

    • Check-in: 6:45 PM​

    • Time: 7:15 PM - 8:30 PM

  • Boys - Birth Years: 2011-2007​

    • Check-in: 8:00 PM​

    • Time: 8:30 PM - 9:45 PM

 

NOTE: All tryout (player placement) sessions will be at our location in Ocoee. Please find the field address below:

CURRENT GGS PLAYERS

We are ready to make a commitment to all our current players. Registration is OPEN for all current members who intend to continue at GGS. This is our guarantee that you do have a place in the GGS Soccer Academy for the 2023-24 soccer season.

 

NOTE: You do NOT have to register for Player Placement, but are expected during tryouts (player placement). Our evaluation process for current players is a 10-month process. Between training, games, age group training, formal evaluations, and much more, our coaches and Directors have made the decision where to place you based on the four pillars of the game; Technical, Tactical, Physical and Psychological. However, at any time during the year, players have the opportunity to move to different teams based on their ongoing evaluation.

 
 

NEW PROSPECTIVE PLAYERS

Player Placement evaluation sessions are for prospective new players who wish to join a GGS Soccer Academy team. We intend to give new players ample opportunity to be evaluated thoroughly and placed on an Academy Team. If you are ready to be evaluated, please register now and we look forward to seeing you at the fields.

TEAM PLACEMENT

Although we use a year-round player placement process to evaluate current players within GGS, we will continue to hold Player’s Placement sessions and ID Camps, throughout the summer, in order to evaluate prospective players from outside of the academy. During these sessions, we look for specific qualities in each player to ensure they are a good fit for the academy, team culture and training methodology used here at GGS Soccer Academy. The process relies on a number of tools to evaluate a player to ensure that each one is placed appropriately based on his or her tactical, technical, physical and psycho-social development.

 

During Player’s Placement sessions, we will use current GGS players and teams to help determine where a prospective player may fit within the structure of our academy. We feel confident in our player’s placement process, and hope it additionally will reduce the stress, anxiety, and difficulties surrounding the event for players and parents.
